We are in Hurricane Irene's Path

Well my first true hurricane ever! We live not far from the coast line, but on higher ground compare to other parts of Hampton. We are 30 miles (or so) from Virginia Beach. They have evacuated Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, And all low lands such as, parts of Hampton, York County, Poquoson, etc.
Jeff is the cool headed one and helping me stay calm. I am scared, NO LYING! Here is what we got to be prepared…

We have 2, 5 Gallon water jugs and a 3 gallon one also.
We bought lots of can food. We already had in food storage have rice, beans, quinoa, and etc.
Can fruit and veggies.
We have so far 4 flash lights, and LOTS of candles (for we all know I love candles)
Extra Dog food
Tools and tape
Charcoal and grill, lighter and lighter fluid
Full tank of gas and two extra cans of gasoline.

The only thing we can do is pray that all goes well. There is another couple in the complex that is staying also, and other members of the ward (church) that are here too. Jeff says we are prepared and on a higher ground area so we just need to be smart and trust in God. I can tell Sammie knows something is up, or well he is just feeding off my energy, but it will be good. Everyone pray for us and all those that are in the path of Hurricane Irene.

Sammie is having Surgery

A few weeks ago Sammie was limping around the house and we didn’t know why. Jeff and I got nervous that something was wrong. So we took him to the doctor and they could feel the tenderness in his upper left shoulder. He was required to take some medicine and no exercise for a week. So we did. By the end of the week, he was a lot better. He was back to his normal self.

While we were at the doctors they did a full check up on him, and he was fine. So flash forward to two weeks later I noticed a weird bump on his ear. I never saw it before and it made me a little nervous. So I thought maybe it would go away on its own. Yesterday I realized he needs to get his bordetella vaccine   and we had to go in anyways. I showed Jeff the bump and how it has gotten bigger over the last week. When the doctor looked at it she looked concern. They took Sammie into the back to put a needle in the lump to get some cells to see what it could be (he was a total champ and had no problem). They came back after examine the cells and said, it is a Tumor. It doesn’t have cancer cells in it, but they said we should get it removed and send it to the histopathology.

So next Tuesday Sammie is having surgery. We are praying that the lump has no cancer cells in it after the histopathology reviews it. We are so shocked of how much this dog is going through. It could be worse, but we are going to do whatever we can to make sure everything is taken care of.

Our New Apt. In Va

When you walk in through the door, this is what you would first see. Our living room.
 The Dinning Room.
 Our O So Comfy couch.
I really like my kitchen. Obviously I am going for Yellow and Green for it.
 Yes, watching Millionaire match-maker.
I love all the windows, it brings so much light.
My Bathroom, I had extra curtains and no color shower curtain so I put my curtains in the bathroom. Totally worked out great.

Virginia Living

Our first state we stop by
We took pics on the Mississippi River

Well we have moved to Virginia. I really like it here. Jeff has a nice schedule were he works from 7 to 4 every day. That stops when he comes back from California.

The trip here wasn’t bad. We took pictures through most of the states. Sammie is in all of them. Sammie had a better time getting over here then he had the first time we moved to Texas. He is used to it now. He knows what the Boxes mean. To him he realizes “the never ending car ride is not far behind.”  He likes the new places. I can tell he would like a yard to run around in, but I try to take him out and find places for him to run around. His daily task consist of sleeping, morning walk, eating, sun bathing on the patio, then inside while mom and dad are gone, playing with his new toys, sleeping, evening walk and dinner. So Jeff and I decided he has a very easy life. Virginia

We moved into a 1 bed room 1 bathroom apartment. It is perfect size for the three of us. We live on the floor. That is the part that sucks the most. I wish we got maybe 2nd floor, but I guess by the time we move out of this place my butt will be nice and firm. We have been all over the place here. Lauren (my friend from back home) came into town and stayed with us for a week. We went to Yorktown, Jamestown, Williamsburg, D.C, Richmond; a lot of sightseeing. It was fun to see the History of our country.

Well I guess that is the gist on this post I will post another one off Jeff’s trip with the youth.

Moving from Texas to Virginia. When is it going to happen.

So much is going on.
Jeff graduated from Tech school, and that was such a relief. Now we are just waiting to go to Virginia.
Here is the problem; we have been waiting for his orders to come in. They gave us this medical paper work that makes a month to process and fill out, only a month before we are supposed to leave. It has been difficult getting old medical records, doctor’s appointments schedule and getting paper work sign and sent. I have been to the medical clinic so many times in the last three weeks the girls at the front desk know me by name.
We are both so frustrated. Each time I go in the Sergeant in charge, says “Next Monday” then on Monday, “oh, by Thursday.” On Thursday they say, “Next Tuesday.” I have been getting the run around, nonstop and it is to the point where we can do nothing about. We have to just wait. We already have a place in Virginia to move into, but we can’t leave out current location without orders. Now we are on a weekend holiday and everything is on hold till Tuesday.  It is very over whelming. We are trying to figure out what we can do to make the situation easier. We have a few ideas:
1)      Me going out there before him. Sammie and Him drive out there together.
2)      Sammie and I fly out and wait for the movers, and he goes out there.
3)      Put stuff in storage and have movers pick it up, while Jeff and I move out. Have Elie (our friend) sign for our things.

It has been so crazy.
